Rex

Rex are well known for their characteristic dense plush fur. Does weigh between 8 to 10 pounds. Bucks weigh between 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 pounds. There are currently 15 recognized colors. Rex are truly a multi-purpose breed. They make excellent pets and tend to be long lived. I had one buck that lived to be 12 years old. They are excellent mothers and I use them for foster mothers when the need arises. Rexes used to be popular for the fur industry. They can also be used for meat although the fryers are not as meaty as the Californians. I have litters several times a year.
