Flemish Giants

Flemish Giants are truly the gentle giants of the rabbit world. Does weigh 14 pounds or over. Bucks weigh 13 pounds or over. They make excellent pets although their large size makes them vulnerable to foot problems. This can be minimized by keeping them in straw lined cages or solid bottom cages. I use plastic grates that are used for dog kennels. They are not very practical as a meat breed due to their large bones. Breeding them in with a meat type rabbit can produce fast growing fryers. They come in seven colors. Currently I raise fawn, sandy, steel grey and white. I have a waiting list for show and pet stock.
